about Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy

Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy is one of the great healing components to achieving balanced doshas and energetic harmony. Rooted in Classical Yoga Therapy, the practice is designed for a specific ailment, purpose or intention. In moving through an individualized sequence of Asana postures and Pranayama breathing exercises, one can direct the flow of energy within the body, release blockages, pacify vitiated doshas, and achieve greater clarity and peace within.

Each asana has specific qualities that move the Prana life force through the Nadi channels and Chakra energy centers of the body. Some poses are uplifting and ascending, while others are grounding. Some build heat, while others cool. Each lends itself to a digestive fire within the body that facilitates the flow of energy and ultimately healing.

Often times, we have access to deep self-healing in yoga, yet it can be difficult to access this depth in a group setting or general class. With private instruction, one will be guided through a sequence that is tailored to the individual’s needs, accompanied by hands-on adjustments and nurturing attention.

Offered to both the new Yogi and experienced practitioners. An Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy class may offer a range of experiences depending on the intention. These may include: fast-paced Vinyasa, slow flow, restorative postures, essential oil therapy, mantras, meditation, and more.
