Rise within Fire
In this practice we move in the shape of a mandala, exploring a multi-directional, circular flow as a means of stepping into the unexpected. Life rarely presents itself in clear, defined ways… yet our binary ways of thinking crave the concretization of what may come. When one is faced with nuance, with navigating grey space, or sitting in uncertainty, discomfort and tension arise. The invitation of this practice is when discomfort or challenge occurs, how do you rise to meet each moment?
The Zen Buddhist monk Suzuki Roshi wrote “you should rather be grateful for the weeds, because eventually they will enrich your practice.” If you find yourself challenged in practice, consider these moments as the weeds to your practice and presence.
This flow explores a variety of twists and hip openers, which benefit digestion, assimilation and grounding.
