Tending to Tejas - Wise Fire Flow
In this 50 minute vinyasa yoga class, we cultivate the fire element to invite clarity of awareness, discernment and perception. We do this by building heat while by paying nuanced attention to intensity of practice and any excess that may arise. "Tejas" is the Sanskrit word for 'fire' or 'illumination.' It is the subtle, refined essence of Pitta dosha and when cultivated, has the power to enhance perception, and widen our ways of seeing. This practice is one that invites us to tend to the fire element, while discerning what may be excess, where the threshold lies, so as to not tip into burnout.
