FAQs

  • I encourage folks to join live for the community support and engagement, which ultimately helps process the materials.

That said, the course is hosted on an online portal and is designed to support self-paced learning. There are videos covering each module and recordings of the live session are uploaded immediately after each session.

We’ve had many students in the past watch the recordings on their own time, but still be able to engage by asking questions that are typically addressed in the next session.

  • Absolutely not!

This course is intended to offer support to anyone who wishes to refine their relationship to personal health from a holistic perspective - incorporating principles of balance in mind, body and soul. I do my best to make this vast knowledge digestible and accessible (and always welcome feedback to improve it :).

Those who do practice or teach yoga may find that Ayurveda deepens their understanding of yoga. The two are considered sister sciences in the Vedic tradition.

  • It’s up to you and your capacity. Time outside of the designated class sessions can range from an additional 30 minutes a week to 2 hours.

Examples of opportunities to engage with Ayurveda outside class include:

    • Exploring a daily meditation practice (gradually building up time from 5 minutes to 20 minute practices)

    • 1-2 ayurvedic rituals to implement weekly (ranging from 2 minutes to 15 minutes, 1-3x that week depending on the ritual).

    • Optional reading which includes one of two recommended books and a course manual (designed to reinforce what we already cover in our sessions).

    • Optional resources to dive deeper, which include a collection or articles, podcasts, short video clips on topics for those who want more.

For those seeking the Yoga Alliance 20 hours of continuing education, non-class hours are accrued by incorporating a variety of the readings and integration practices.

  • The Ayurvedic Foundations for Wellbeing Course is eligible for 20 Yoga Alliance continuing education hours. 9 of these hours are met through our 6 live class sessions (which you may also watch the recording of if you cannot attend live). The remaining 11 hours are met through weekly integration exercises, practice and one assignment.

The assignment is purely for understanding of the material, making it applicable to your own lifestyle, and is intended to be fun. I’ll explain the assignment in greater depth come Week 4.

Once I receive your assignment, I’ll provide you with a certificate of completion and mark the course as complete in Yoga Alliance.
