Alchemy of Earth Workshop | Plant Meditation + Natural Dyes
Deepen your connection to plants, your source energy and creative exploration in this 2-part meditation and natural dye workshop. We will begin with a plant meditation journey, guided by yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner Gaby Colletta. This grounding meditation will also activate our senses through the plant, through touch, smell, sight, and imagination. Harnessing this power and connection to nature, textiles artist Kristin Arzt will lead you through intentional bundle dyeing. You will dye one small silk piece and one silk meditation shawl using materials that have been gathered in Oakland and beyond. Primarily, we will work with the rose as a source of inspiration and color, and will also incorporate accent colors from food waste, bugs, metals and more.
