Soma Sadhana - Nectar of the Moon
This 45 minute yoga practice invites slow mindful movement intended to bring the lunar qualities of the moon or Soma into one’s personal practice. In Ayurveda, "soma" is the Sanskrit word that pertains to the nectar of life. It has cooling, nourishing, and revitalizing benefits that are associated with bliss and contentment. It supports the creation of "Ojas," what Ayurveda calls our immune boosting life force.
What to expect: Movement inspired by the water element, shoulder and heart opening, hip opening, hamstring stretching. Half sun salutations with side bends, malasana and goddess pose variations, lizards lunge pulses, all prepare the body for the peak pose: the standing balance - bird of paradise.
Suggested Props: Two bricks (one in front and back of your mat) and strap
