Yoga for Anxiety: Grounding Vata Flow
Enjoy a 45 minute slow vinyasa flow to nourish your nervous system and replenish your internal resources. This practice is intended to help relieve anxiety and other common Vata imbalances such as worry, overwhelm, fear or lack of grounding. It incorporates breathwork, somatic movement and asana for to release tension, calm the nervous system, tone the vagus nervous and cultivate an internal sanctuary of calm.
What to expect: A slow start in child’s pose with calming breathwork, followed by various grounding and hip opening postures. We connect to Earth element & Root Chakra to balance Vata Dosha and invite stability into the body and mind. Lots of IT band stretches, hip opening postures, and leg work to support grounding the mind and body. We work towards the peak: Cow Face Pose or Gomukhasana.
Suggested Props: Two bricks at front of mat.
Filmed in the Mojave Desert, just outside St. George Utah.
