Vinyasa | Cultivating the opposite
50 MINUTE | VINYASA | ALL LEVELS
A wrist-friendly yoga flow exploring sutra 2:33
Welcome to a wrist-friendly yoga class, where we’ll explore yoga asana that does not involve much weight bearing on your wrist. If you are working through wrist injuries or have sensitive wrists, this vinyasa flow will still provide an energizing practice, while hopefully allowing your wrists to rest and heal.
At times when working through injury or pain, it can be easy to fall into negative mental loops. In this practice we use the tool of cultivating the opposite through the embodiment of yoga sutra 2:33: Vitarkabādhane pratipraksabhāvana.
“When doubt, or wayward thoughts, disturb the cultivation of the yamas and the niyamas, generate the opposite: counterforce of thoughts, images, or feelings that have the power to uplift, invigorate, inspire, and study the mind. This is pratipaksha bhavana.”
Translated by Reverend Jaganath Carrera
What to expect: A wrist friendly yoga flow with a little bit of everything: hip openers, hamstring love, thoracic spine / upper back and shoulder opening, heart opener - all working towards eagle pose.
